35 degrees, who cares!

After a leisurely breakfast we caught the shuttle back to the airport for about 11.00 am.  The pollution levels were still very high and as it was so hot we decided to travel in shorts and tee shirts and worry about the cold when we arrived back in the UK.

The 12 hour flight was quite hard work – very noisy plane so it was quite difficult to hear the entertainment through the head sets provided, the food was really not to our taste at all – John hardly ate anything and there was a drunk passenger a row back to our left who managed to stay drunk the entire journey but was only very talkative, not aggressive but it was very difficult zoning him out.

We arrived at about 7 pm UK time (about 4 am for us) and were collected by Peter and Dad.  Peter had only just arrived back into the UK from the States in the early hours of today so he had gone home and then come back again for us.

We arrived home at about 9. 00 pm to a very quiet house without Doogie to greet us.

35 degrees, sunny

Our last day in our hotel at Krabi, so we packed for the final time and left our luggage with the hotel reception and spent the rest of the day sunning ourselves around the pool.  We were collected at about 3.30 pm by a nice limo and driver and had a very pleasant drive to Krabi airport – much better than the journey from Phuket!  It was a smooth, short flight to Bangkok and then a transfer to the Novotel hotel which was on the airport complex.  Pollution levels were very high, we could feel it catching the back of our throats as soon as the aeroplane doors opened.  As we flew over the outskirts of Bangkok we could see several fields being burned of stubble, so they are not helping the situation.

The Novotel was a fairly big, smart looking hotel but did not have much to offer in the way of evening meals at 10.00 pm so we ended up having a horrible pizza at the hotel bar and going to bed fairly shortly afterwards.
